I conducted some similar experiments in the past just for my own (geeky) enjoyment and I was wondering... if there are some unusual creatures growing in mine do you know of a good resource that would help me identify what the heck is growing in the jar? In my closed pond water experiment, a strange plant creature grew on the side of the glass that responded to tapping of the glass by retracting into itself. Weird! Please help!

I've been experimenting with aquatic (freshwater and marine) CESs and am preparing a book on Closed Ecological Systems.

I'm especially interested in the kinds of data you may be collecting. It would be interesting to exchange info. There aren't a lot of us.

I've been looking for (I think) a Ziggy cartoon, where he is feeding his fish, and says they should think of him as God.
